Denver Bacon & Beer Festival Recap

16 Dec

Last Sunday, Forkly, along with Eat Boston and Denver Off the Wagon, hosted Denver’s inaugural Bacon & Beer Festival!

We over bacon-ed, over beer-ed and were in a food coma for much of Sunday.

photo (33)The festival was held at Mile High Station, which made for the perfect venue. The great space allowed for over 875 bacon and beer enthusiasts to take shelter from the cold day and warm up with creative and insanely-delicious bacon dishes and beer!

Some great surprises during the day too– like the best dressed attendees, who came all decked out!

The dishes, beer, restaurants and breweries were amazing and the crowd was spectacular! Thank you to all who attended and in particular to the hard working restaurants and brewers–many of whom gave up their day off to be there with us all.

Enjoy some fun food, brewer, and chef reviews from Eater Denver and Westword’s Cafe Society…as well as some fun Westword photos, too. Take a peek below at some of the tastes posted by Forkly friends– and Cheers to more Forkly feasts & fests in 2013!

Tacos, Tequila, and More: Your Guide to Cinco de Mayo Weekend

4 May

Cinco de Mayo, or “The Fifth of May,” marks the Mexican Army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla. Though it’s not as big of a deal in Mexico as their Independence Day (which it’s commonly confused as), it’s still celebrated with family get-togethers, dancing, fireworks, and lots of tasty food and drinks. Even if you’re not in Mexico for this celebration, you can still break out your oversized sombrero (we know you have one) and find a city around the U.S. showing their love for this Mexican holiday (and cuisine)!
