Forkly Photo Recap: Food & Wine Classic in Aspen

23 Jun

Well, we’ve been a little preoccupied this week with our new release but wanted to post some beautiful shots from our long weekend at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen.

A huge thank you Aspen’s The Cheese Shop for hosting our Happy Hour with Culinary Connectors — we’d highly recommend that you stop by there (tell them we sent you!) next time you’re in Aspen. The food was FANTASTIC. As was the wine & prosecco, thank you Zonin USA! We also recommend that next time you make it to Denver, Boulder, or Aspen, book a phenomenal food (or craft beer!) tour with Culinary Connectors. It’ll give you plenty to Forkly– but in the meantime, you can follow them on Forkly to whet your appetite.

Other shout outs: Food & Wine MagazineInfinite Monkey Theorem, Leigh Sullivan Enterprises & the FIVE crew, Justin Brunson and Masterpiece DeliSwirl Girl Denver, Justice Snow’s, the Grand Cochon, One Hope Wine, and Whole Foods Market for being wonderful hosts and making it a fabulous weekend. We’re looking forward to next year!

SOMMELIER & DENVER WESTWORD WRITER KENDRA ANDERSON (Forkly: @swirlgirldenver)

Kendra Anderson is Swirl Girl Denver, a professional chef, an advanced sommelier and the creator/author of Swirl Girl, Denver Westword’s weekly wine and lifestyle column. With Kendra’s Forkly posts and wine pairings, users get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the sommelier lifestyle — specifically, rich and flavorful dishes paired with wines from around the world.

“I love using Forkly, not only to share great wine and food experiences with people all around the world, but it’s also become my favorite tool for tracking wines I’ve tasted and the pairings I’d recommend with them. Forkly rocks!”

Regional winemakers and sommeliers are working hard to get Colorado’s wines on the global map. And Kendra is no exception. Next week to whet appetites for Colorado’s 2012 Drink Local Wine Convention & June’s Colorado Urban Winefest, Denver’s Row14 Bistro & Wine Bar is hosting an evening with Kendra, “Colorado Wine vs. The World.”

You can read more information on the history of Colorado’s wine in an article here, by Local Winos Magazine editor Jacob Harkins. For Kendra Anderson’s daily musings on wine, food, and entertaining, follow her on Forkly and on Twitter at @swirlgirldenver. In the meantime, enjoy some of Kendra’s Forkly tastes below — and start sharing your pairings with us too!
