Invite your food lovin’ friends to enjoy time together (half price oysters, anyone??), talk Forkly, and help raise funds for Chef Alli’s incredible new project, Micro-Greens. Micro-Greens will teach children and their families how to cook healthy meals on a SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) budget. We hope Forkly friends will consider donating to the project, help spread the word about her work, and attend her future feasts in DC on our behalf!

If you thought the celebrating was over after the 4th of July, think again. Bastille Day–the national celebration of the French Revolution is Saturday July 14. Cinco de Mayo, or “The Fifth of May,” marks the Mexican Army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla. Though it’s not as big of a deal in Mexico as their Independence Day (which it’s commonly confused as), it’s still celebrated with family get-togethers, dancing, fireworks, and lots of tasty food and drinks. Even if you’re not in Mexico for this celebration, you can still break out your oversized sombrero (we know you have one) and find a city around the U.S. showing their love for this Mexican holiday (and cuisine)!
